I’ve Been Roasted!

Screen shot of sunday roasting at Eddie's

Recognise the blog? It’s Eddie’s! And he roasted me!

Thanks Eddie. It gives us a chance to wax lyrical about our blogs and get a little exposure. I am so glad Eddie continued the Sunday Roasting – I do enjoy reading them all even if I don’t get a chance to comment or to visit them all. Anyone who comes over via Eddie’s -

W E L C O M E ! !

And of course, to all my regular visitors…

T H A N K Y O U !

for keeping on coming.

So now, go on over to Eddie’s and have a look at the interview.

Pwetty pweeeeease. Thanks. Plenty (((hugs))) for you. :)

Hope

I love rainbows. They give me hope. I love the colours (and I can see them all – some people only see 6 colours but I see the indigo too). Mostly I love the promise God made with it and I remember that he never breaks a promise.

309

God is not a man that he should tell lies,
Neither a son of mankind that he should feel regret.
Has he himself said it and will he not do it,
And has he spoken and will he not carry it out? (Numbers 23:19)

301

…upon the basis of a hope of the everlasting life which God, who cannot lie, promised before times long lasting, (Titus 1:2)

313

So, since God can’t lie, if he says he’ll do something (or not do something) then he’ll do it (or not do it.) That’s the bit I like. So.

Jehovah is near to those that are broken at heart;
And those who are crushed in spirit he saves. (Psalm 34:18)

323

That’ll do for me. ;0)

Everybody hurts…

There’s changes at the Thumbelina household.

Change is always painful, whether you bring it about or not. It is hard to adjust to new situations whether that be because some one marries or because some one dies. Neither of these extremes have occurred in our house, but there is still change. And it hurts.

And sometimes, everybody hurts.

And there’s nothing you can do to make it better. Except pray.

To borrow a phrase from a blogger friend of mine...

Sharing the load

POTD and POTW!

Now here is yet another post after "The End". At this rate I'm gonna name it "Not The End" like in "Not the Nine o'clock News".

I just had to add a bit of advertising for this blog too - again if anyone is still dropping by here. Further to the post below where I talk about David hanging up his blogging keyboard and the Sunday Roast being taken on by a very worthy Eddie Bluelights, there was still the question of Post of the Day or, as we often refer to it, POTD.

This was an item many of us loved because it put us in touch with so many bloggers across the blogosphere over 3 or 4 times a week. How David managed it I will never know. I still think he never paid those Authorbloglets enough. Maybe that's it - maybe they went on strike!!

Anyway, Hilary of the blog The Smitten Image (ain't that a fab name? I'm smitten with it - check out her header too!) has, with David's blessing, taken up this mantle. Now without the advantage of slaves children workers Authorbloglets a journo's brain, Hilary would be completely overwhelmed to try and emulate David's POTD 3 or 4 times a week. And so she has developed the just-as-worthy POTW, otherwise known as Posts of the Week.

Every week, ususally on a Wednesday, Hilary will go to the trouble of looking up blogs and highlighting some good posts of that week. So if you miss the POTD, or want to find other bloggers and don't know where to start, then go and look up Hilary's Posts of the Week. I am sure it will be as successful as POTD (I hope it is) and I know without this feature on David's blog, I would never have found all my blog friends. So go on, what have you got to lose? Go look up my friend. Apart from POTW she is an awesome photographer, great writer and gentle soul. It is a privilege to have a window on her world, and I know that the POTW is safe in her hands.

authorblog's Sunday Roast

In my previous life I had the pleasure of getting roasted at David's blog. Like me, many people have had the pleasure of getting a roasting there, a platform with the freedom to advertise your blog and promote yourself.

As many of you know, David is hanging up the blogging mantle for now, and we all understand his decision but of course, many will miss the regular features. One such feature was the weekly Sunday Roast.

Now on the interwebs there is a charming young man who goes by the name of Eddie Bluelights. Eddie seems to be a lifesaver not only in the real world, but in the blog world also. He has offered to continue with the Sunday Roast posts and David gives him the thumbs up and blessing. This is great because I am sure there's loads of roasts waiting to be published, and it would be a shame for those bloggers if they never were published. So.

The purpose of this post after "The End"?

It's actually to keep a promise to my friend Maggie May. Maggie asked if I would do a post to signpost people over to Eddie's for the Sunday Roast. It is my pleasure. I'm not so sure if folks go by my blog these days, but if you do come by and you want to meet other bloggers, go have a look at Eddie's blog where he says he is continuing with the Sunday Roast from mid October.

I have often lurked in Eddie's blog and maybe sometimes commented. He is as sound as a pound as we say here (although I would hazard that the pound is still not all that sound, but that is no reflection on poor old Eddie). He is an absolute hoot and I reckon you would enjoy his blog anyway. So why not go over and have a look? It certainly won't hurt. ;0)

And in other news.....

Yes, I am writing on bog standard blogspot "new post". I got a new computer and Windows Live Writer (WLW) is not compatible with XP Pro 64 bit. BOO HOO! (Yeah we checked the help site that Terry pointed us to but no go.) Anyway, I didn't bug Terry then because very soon I will get Windows 7 and it IS compatible with Windows 7. YIPEEEEE!

Oh yeah - I was meant to have stopped blogging. No time. etc. etc. Hmmm. We'll see.

Other stuff - we're all fine. Life trundles along. Schools to be got to. Work to be done. Husbands to shift off the sofa and cats to feed. Oh yes - talking of cats. The big one, the favourite soft cuddly baby of mine, got a tumour and died very quickly in early August. I was very upset but ok now. So now we are five. :0)

I'm still visiting you all intermittently (if I've not been recently, that's the intermittent bit! Sorry - I'll get there eventually).

Thanks for dropping in, those of you who do.

Now - go see what
Eddie's up to! Have fun!
